Shimoni Fish port: a boon for coast fishing community
President William Samoei Ruto oversaw the construction of the Shimoni Port, set to become the country’s first fish port. Funded by Kenya Ports Authority, this Ksh. 2.6 billion project aims to boost the Blue Economy by enhancing fish production and processing. The port’s facilities and infrastructure will support the entire fish value chain, driving economic growth and employment opportunities.
